Camping Birthday Party

We doubled up again and celebrated the 2 oldest turning of years.  We took them cabin camping and brought G&G Barker with us up there to celebrate.
Carter is ready to go!
On our way, we stopped at Soda Damn
 Cool Caves!
 ...and rock climbing!
Josh picked a cheesecake (made it easy for traveling)... Kyle picked smores :).
Happy birthday Boys!  Josh 8 and Kyle 6.
 Blow out!
 Presents!

We were cozy inside the cabin when a snowstorm came... COOL!

There were minutes where it was almost complete white out!
After the storm we hiked the hill.

And later we roasted marshmallows over the grill.
We brought the boy's cousin Nate with us (well his flat stanley version!).
The next day was sunny and clear- perfect for a hike down to the lake.
They each found a stump to stand on.

Carter found a neck to ride on.
Josh was excited about the pocket knife he got!  "Look mom, It looks like a dog!"
Kyle had fun exploring with his new binoculars!

Can you spot what he found?

On our way home, we stopped at the Jimez Pueblo Ruins... and to our surprise, admission was free because it was a Sunday and NM state monuments are free on Sundays.

Very interesting place as it dates back to the 1500's.
 Cheese!
This was the Church that the Spanish Conquistadors built.
 Pondering from a different time!

Baby Austin stayed with my parents during this camping trip...
 Amazing!
J & K found a lizard... and ancient lizard as they called it!
