Trick or Treat!

We are not even close to being a super family, but it is fun to pretend!   Mike and I joined the kid's fun and put together make shift costumes from stuff we had around the house and ta da, we were a super hero family... I love felt and old t-shirts!

Mike was Flash & I was Batgirl!  Mike's mask was an old stained up shirt from Jacob, I just cut it across, sewed up the top and cut the eyes out.
Grandpa B joined us in the trick or treating fun... The boys were soooo excited!  I think little J snuck and piece of candy by the looks of his face!
"Trick or Treat!", "Thank You"... I think they finally caught on after about the 20th house!
While we were out we ran into some friends, Manual and Gabriella- oh, I mean Mario & Luigi.
I think it was time to go home, Robin was dragging his bag because it was so heavy & Batman was so focused on candy that he peed his pants.
We got LOTS of candy this year!
After the sugar rush, it was time for bed, they were outfitted in Jack O lantern style thanks to Grandma B.
 Our little super baby!
His costume was home made too!  A red cut up t-shirt for the cape, felt for the emblem, red under ware from a pair of girl's tights that I found at a garage sale, belt from the boy's dress up box, blue onesie, blue pjs underneath and red socks of course!
 Superheros don't eat leaves!
 Dun-Dun-Dun, SUPERMAN!
 Happy Halloween!

friends and costumes

Dressing up, oh what fun!  Last week we met some friends at the park for a costume party.

Group picture.
The supers were on a mission.
It took a lot of super human muscle to fight the bad guys and save the day.
Buzz Light year was ready to stop the intruders.
For all their hard work, they were rewarded with candy... If they waited patiently :).
Then off to the field to collaborate forces and run their energy off.
 My little super dupers!

Super baby came swinging into action.
Robin took many breaks to refuel!
There is something special between these two!
 3 years old.
 1.5 years old
7 months old... This one is one of my all time favorites!

Pumpkin school

Big J got to use his pumpkin for his math lesson...  He counted the seeds, measured ingredients for a few pumpkin recipes, and got to help carve it.  I love the fall!
Counting one by one...

It takes lots of concentration... There were 461 seeds, great counting practice as he counted in groups of 100.

Their faces tell a lot about their personalities :).

Little J just likes being part of the project, while K has to get his hands on it and taste it too!
They must have saw something special!
K wouldn't stop talking about the goop that was inside the pumpkin.
 Ta da!

Batman and Robin

K and Little J are quite the pair right now, they can be heard building a whole room of train tracks, creating muddy concoctions in the backyard or screaming at each other all in the same hour.  It only seemed appropriate to make them paired up characters for halloween.  As you will see soon (stay tuned for future blogs), Batman and Robin fit into our theme perfectly!  While big J was at school and C was sleeping, I was able to capture some of their fun play times together.

Meet Batman and Robin, aka K and little J! Crime fighting is their game...

His job may be serious, but he enjoys it!

Robin always comes sweeping in to help out.

At any given moment, they are ready for action!

Is that a cry for help?!  They have it covered...

This job takes climbing...

...And jumping!

duna nuna nuna nuna nuna... BATMAN & ROBIN!

With a mask, he can be superhuman!

He is ready!

But first, a quick stop at Costco!

Robin climbs into action!

Then the bad guys are gone and they sit by the pumpkins because it is nap time!

By the way, the costumes were made with stuff we already had, a few sheets of felt and a couple of t-shirts that I purchased from a garage sale and cut up/sewed... Less than $2 a costume!
