Bosque hike

I've said it before, but this is my all time favorite time of the year and my favorite outing with my family.  It is a magical fairy tale atmosphere with the huge cottonwood trees brimming bright and yellow and the sun shining through just perfect.  This time we ventured in a different direction and found some new things to discover, come and see!

The river bank looked a lot different this year with all the summer rains
Nature triggers the best kind of imagination.

 PERFECT Fall evening!

Halloween 2013- Star Wars

We did it again... Family themed costume dress up!  This year everyone was very excited to play out Star Wars.  The best part was Jacob's school did a costume swap, where we found 2 of the costumes... The other costumes were either bought 2nd hand or created with stuff that we already had.  I spent about $20 for all 7 of our costumes :)...I bet you didn't know how thrifty I am ;).  The evening was a bit chilly, but that didn't stop this crew of boys from going door to door.  They were a little more refined in their group tune of 'Trick or Treat' (instead of just staring at the people as they opened the door :).  Here we are!

From Left to right: Luke Skywalker, E Wok, Yoda, Obi Wan Kenobi, Darth Vader, Anakin Skywalker... Princess Leia was taking the picture ;).  May the force be with you!
 E Wok Baby :)
 Master Yoda

One of us had to be on the dark side.
 Jedi Training...
And the battle with the Darkside began!
 All of us
Even a Jedi enjoys a good cuddle with an Ewok!
 The candy sort out :).
For preschool that morning, Jacob was a cowboy for his farm themed harvest fest.
 He really hammed it up!

A few nights before, we carved pumpkins.  All our pumpkins sitting on the table.
 Carving fun!
hey Carter, what is inside a pumpkin??? His first look.
 Joshua's pumpkin
 Tada!

Other October happenings... All beginning with B!

You would think that Balloon Fiesta would be included in this post since it happens in Oct, but to be quite honest, it was forgotten in the hustle and bustle of the month... Maybe next year.  What we did have was a whole lot of other 'B' happenings.  Come see!

Bubbles... Cheap entertainment and they go on clearance late sept/early oct.
 Brother shirts
Bicycles... jakey is officially a rider now :).
 So proud!
Battles during a play of The Trojan War, put on by Joshua's 2nd grade class.
Josh was the King that was fighting over Queen Helen.
 They did a fabulous job!
Ball games were how we spent our weekends.  The Red Dragons did well and Josh once again led in number of goals.
 Go Josh, Go!
Bugs- Kyle spends soccer games catching bugs... This day it was a yellow butterfly.
 Beautiful fall colors everywhere.

Birthday Dinners- This year I got 3!  One with my neighbor friends, one with my hubby & one with my mom :)... Now it is time for BURNING calories!

a Blast of a time at the Pumpkin Patch playing games and picking out pumpkins

Bosque 5K run with my Bestie to support the boys school :).  I haven't run a race since before I had kids.

Austin 6 months old

I am behind on posts... I better post Austin's 6 month pictures before he turns 8 months next week ;).  The belly laughs, the looks of curiosity, the squirms & the faces of tasting new things are my favorites.  He beams every morning when he sees everyone and the feeling is mutual as everyone greets him with hugs and kisses and excitement.  He draws A LOT of attention within our family as everyone wants to hold, help and love on him.  He is a cuddle bug and oh so squeezable... We love you Austin!!!
Sleeping... As precious as he looks when he is sleeping, he is a power nap kind of baby- sigh!
Eating... He is starting to eat more than just milk.  He eats well, loving pureed stews, avocado and pureed fruit :). His chunkiness needs to be fed regularly!
He is strong!  I know I have said this before, but he gracefully pulls his heavy body all over.
The belly laughs are abundant and priceless.
 The ahhhhs and squeals!
 The stoic look.
 ...and the smiles!
 Awwwwwe!

He may be outgrowing the swing?!
He loves the grass and being outside!
 Love the baby features :).
