Swim team kick off...

Swimming is the best sport for little boys... It burns off their energy, it allows them to have some healthy competitions, gives them strength and endurance & it is fun and refreshing!   This year two Barker kids are enrolled in Swim Team.  With this being year 2 for Josh and the fact that he is the top of his competition class (8 and under) he is on fire!  With 3 meets under his belt, he has only gotten red, white and blue ribbons... And he signs up for every possible race he can!  He has even decided that a 25 back stroke is too easy for him and swims up with the 9-10 year olds so that he can swim the 50 back.  What a difference year 2 of swim team makes.  We are so proud of Kyle too... He is one of the youngest kids on the team and has stuck through every practice without complaining.  The one requirement to joining the team was to be able to swim across the pool.  On day 1 he struggled and struggled to get across but has made a lot progress since then :).  He now swims 2 races each meet and is soooo excited to win his ribbons :).

Kyle getting ready for his first meet.

Whops, he forgot to pull down his goggles... He still made it across!
 And there goes Josh!
During the downtime between races, Kyle managed to catch a frog :).
He became the hit of the meet among the kids! Such a scientist!
I am not sure which was more exciting for Kyle, the frog or the race?!
Josh and his prizes!  Good job, son.
Good Job Kyle, you worked hard!
First 1st place of the season... He was so excited!

Candid Moments from the past few months...

These are the pictures that are irresistible... The everyday moments that make me smile.

Josh wanted to take a picture of us with my phone camera
A school visit to a local bakery.
 It was fun and interesting
A trip to the bio-gardens with some friends
 Peek-a-boo!
la, la, la, I can't hear you!
Huge marshmallow treats from G&G Barker!
 Garden time! Spring veggies :).
Once in a while, they will all get in a grove and play together.  They made a fort and were ready to defeat the bad guys.
 BOYS!
 Lap games with dad.
 Awe, I love that smile!
 Yay!
 Sweet sleeper.
Watching dad do yard work... I think I have the same picture with J & K when they were about that age.
Brother hugs.  Austin puts up with a lot ;)!
 This is his thinking face.
 ...And his goofy antics.
 Mustaches!
You can almost see what he will look like as a grown man!
Josh wore his all day and baby wore his all of 1 painful minute!
cuddle time for them and date night for mom and dad :)!
Always finding cool bugs... They boys thought the 2 butterflies were fighting, I didn't tell them they were really mating.
This is the perfect picture for the relationship that these two have!  At the moment Austin says:  mama, dada, ball, baba & Josh.  He LOVES josh and Josh LOVES him!
Speaking of date night, we actually dressed up nice and went the boy's school fundraiser silent auction and dinner.
 Carter's art project!
 And this is Austin's!
 love.
 Jacob's thinking face.
 more hugs.
this kid can pull anything off with his charm.
 One lonely rainy evening...

VBS 2014

Vacation Bible School (VBS) is a fun part of summer.  There is quite a list of friends that all attend together every year so it becomes a reunion for us moms to catch up on how the previous year has gone. The kids learn some great things and have a lot of fun.

They had a talent show and K&J told jokes :).
Carter had his first taste of classroom time.  He loved it!
Can you find Jake and his kindergarten group?
 Kyle is our waver!
And josh presenting his group's symbolic picture of forgiveness.
 Some of the friends :).
Another week, another VBS- this time at our church.
