Wobbly Walker

On Austin's 1st birthday, he decided he was going to take more than just a few steps... He got up and walked across the room.  This past month I got various pictures of him practicing and refining that wobbly bird walk.  Who can resist a baby's inspiring drive to learn to walk?!

Some of the first steps!

Look at me!
FREEDOM!!!
This is sooo exciting!

HI!

The belly grab for support before he falls!
A little rest from all that walking!
Here we go again!

Other March Happenings!

March is busy for us... I am sure it always will be!  Here is a look back:

Joshua's basketball season ended... Good Job Hawks!
Josh was the new guy on the team, but worked hard and learned a lot.
 Blocking.
End of the season party... so stoic!
A candid shot of a rare moment when the big man let me rock and cuddle him :).
I have some maternity pictures of me sitting that very rocking chair days before Josh was born... Boy does time fly!
The boys had spring break and G&G Barker took the older kids for a couple of nights... We had fun around town with the 2 younger ones!
Friends and games... they take them so seriously!
I found Austin sneaking in the lego room and actually knew how to stack the legos together... He has been watching his brothers too much!
 shoulder ride!
Jake did some Preschool Gymnastic classes.
 He had fun!
 Learning a cartwheel.
 Rope climbing.
 Grandpa R's birthday!  Happy Birthday!
The kids had endless hours on the trampoline...
Their school had an English Expo... They got to dress up as a story book character.
 ...And parade around campus.
Josh did too, he just didn't dress up.
Jacob always has a kiss waiting for A!
We made green eggss and ham as it was Dr. Seuss week at school.
Carter and Jake helped me in the garden!
These 2 are always ready for an adventure, even if their shoes are too big!

School science day- 2nd graders got to experiment with reactions.
Kinders got to look at sand, dirt & rocks and dig for worms.
Star Wars day at the library.
During Spring Break, we took the kids to an indoor pool- Much to our surprise, Austin loved the water!
As a matter of fact, they all loved it!

Camping Birthday Party

We doubled up again and celebrated the 2 oldest turning of years.  We took them cabin camping and brought G&G Barker with us up there to celebrate.
Carter is ready to go!
On our way, we stopped at Soda Damn
 Cool Caves!
 ...and rock climbing!
Josh picked a cheesecake (made it easy for traveling)... Kyle picked smores :).
Happy birthday Boys!  Josh 8 and Kyle 6.
 Blow out!
 Presents!

We were cozy inside the cabin when a snowstorm came... COOL!

There were minutes where it was almost complete white out!
After the storm we hiked the hill.

And later we roasted marshmallows over the grill.
We brought the boy's cousin Nate with us (well his flat stanley version!).
The next day was sunny and clear- perfect for a hike down to the lake.
They each found a stump to stand on.

Carter found a neck to ride on.
Josh was excited about the pocket knife he got!  "Look mom, It looks like a dog!"
Kyle had fun exploring with his new binoculars!

Can you spot what he found?

On our way home, we stopped at the Jimez Pueblo Ruins... and to our surprise, admission was free because it was a Sunday and NM state monuments are free on Sundays.

Very interesting place as it dates back to the 1500's.
 Cheese!
This was the Church that the Spanish Conquistadors built.
 Pondering from a different time!

Baby Austin stayed with my parents during this camping trip...
 Amazing!
J & K found a lizard... and ancient lizard as they called it!
