Cabin Camping

As a teenager, I went up to a camping lodge called Lutherhaven for various church functions.  It was a nice place for retreats, camping, hiking and just having fun.  It was a quiet piece of nature in the mountains perfect for experiencing God's natural world.  In 2003, it burned down along with the other hundreds (maybe thousands) of acres surrounding it during a wild fire.  I mostly forgot about it until I recently found out that they rebuilt it and made it easy for church members to go stay up there with their families when it wasn't being used by churches.  We signed up immediately and had a nice weekend enjoying the beautiful fall colors. We took my parents too, to celebrate my mom's birthday :).
Mountains... Nature's playground!
We happened to go at the peak of fall color :).

Our hike to the lake... Austin wouldn't keep his hat on.
On our way down we didn't see any wild life, but we did run into some cattle :)... The boys were impressed!
