Beautiful Bosque

A few weeks back we took what is becoming our annual trip to the bosque to run play and enjoy the vibrant fall colors!  We were glad we went when we did because the temperatures dropped shortly after and everything turned shriveled and brown... As you will tell, this place is one of my favorite places to bring the boys and the camera!  They don't love the fact that I bring my camera, but some day they will appreciate the memories being preserved ;).

These days, ANYTHING is a weapon with high powered sound effects!

I have tried over and over to capture 'the elbow run'... Well here it is! He looks so jolly and confident.
Their all time favorite... Group pictures!  I had to bribe them with candy ;). Josh was showing C where to look!
At least Grandma was there to make them laugh!
One of my favorites.
Climbing the fallen trees...
or crawling on them!
Smiles!
K is looking so grown up.
Carter had a blast watching and playing!
Can you believe he will be off to Kindergarten next year?!  He looks ready!

The trouble makers lately ;).

What a sparkle in his eyes he has!
Always thinking of what he could do with something.

I love that little baby face!

Look what I found!
Family picture!
His pretend horse!
You can't tell they are trouble, can you?!
Can you guess what he wants for Christmas?
A stroll to the river at dusk.

Happy Trails, good friends!

It is always hard to see a family that we have become so fond of move away... Especially one that has kids that have become some of our kid's best friends!  We already miss you so much D family!!

The day before they left, we had one final meet up at the park so the kids could play (and so us moms could take more group pictures!).  Seriously, we wish your whole family the best and hope to someday meet up again!

3 families of kids...youngest to oldest!
The original 3 boys, been playing together since babyhood!
 The next generation.

Halloween Ninjas

Our trend of group dressing up has continued (although I am not sure how many more years we have of that!).  This year we had little martial artists... They were all going to be Ninjas until Josh bailed at the last minute and decided to be a little different and called himself 'Karate Guy'.  It was a fun evening of pretend fighting and trick or treating.
Original inspiration... LEGO NINJAGO!
They were warriors for an evening & the best part was we made all their costumes from stuff we already had :)...
They were a team ready for anything!
Did you notice C holding the sword by the blade?!
 Hy-Ya!
 The pre fight wise ponder.
 Now he is ready!

 His imagination in action :).
Don't mess with his apple or else!
Hmmm, I wonder where he learns all the antics of being a boy?!
 He had his own moves!

 Happy Halloween!

October Fun

Well that month just flew by!  It was busy, busy that is for sure... But, who could resist all the good weather and outdoor fun?!  I love the fall :).  Come see what we did.

We made a few visits to our new favorite open space park called Alameda Open Space.
There are wooded trails that used to be a family orchard, the kids had fun picking some good apples and pears to enjoy on their hike!
 Brotherly love!
We enjoyed our 2nd annual play date costume party at the park... The kids have so much fun role playing with each other :).
The fall soccer season wrapped up with a winning season :).  It became the family/friends Saturday hangout, we look forward to the spring season with the same team.
 Carter's ball sitting buddy.
 Soccer friends!
 Sideline side kicks!
It is always fun to visit the Galloping Grace Pumpkin Patch down the street from us... Can't beat the free admission and proceeds of pumpkins go to the wonderful horse ranch we enjoy visiting.
 Bull lassoing.
Goat feeding via a pulley wire and bucket.
 Inflatable horse riding :).
Kyle was right at home at the mud pie cafe... He got to pump water from a well and cook all kinds of mud recipes in the fully equipped outdoor kitchen.
 Snow cones compliments of grandma.
Preschool Halloween party... they wanted to wear their costumes from last year.
Park fun in the evenings... Before the weather gets too cold!
 Highest soccer kicking contest.
