Activity Table

So the story goes...  Our family grows, our counters get cluttered, our closets get stuffed full of kids stuff, the kitchen table has now become a school table,a toy table, a 'project' display table, and occasionally an eating table!  Something had to change, we were digging our way to the table just to eat dinner and it was the icing on the cake when a cup of milk got spilled on big J's math book!  We needed more table space.  A nice friend of mine shared a link to an idea by Martha Stewart for a craft table using a flat door.  The long length of a door sounded perfect for the four of our kids! 

We made it our own by painting it with chalk board paint... It is nice and long!

 There is tons of storage space to store busy time activities.

 I added kid sized (not toddler sized) chairs that are comfy enough for adults.

 Enough space for each child to have their own room to do an activity... Did I mention how wonderfully long this table is?

 The chalk board paint works great and has provided endless ways to use it. 

 This being the favorite way of the 2 year old!

 Baby can't reach the little pieces yet... Ha, just a matter of time!

 J spends lots of school hours here.

 The 2 partners in crime can be worlds apart at opposite ends! 

 Busy work during school hours. 

 Spelling word writing practice for the student. 

 The best thing of all... My kitchen table is not usually cluttered anymore!
