Bootcamp

The crazy dinner hour at our house has just gotten crazier on Monday nights.

Gym clothes on, water bottles in our hands, one last kiss to the little ones as we close the door out to the garage.  We were on our way to a date to Bootcamp!  Silly name for a date you may be thinking, but we have been trying to fit in some kind of regular exercise into our schedules since baby J was born and both of us could use some major stress relief these days!  At this point you may be wondering what bootcamp has to do with any of this, well it is the name of an excercise class that caught our eyes at the local aquatic center.  The brochure read that this is a class for MEN and women that involves interval training...

The 'Men' part won Mike over and he agreed to try it out and my wonderful mother in law just so happens to be off most Mondays & she agreed to watch the kids for us.  We were ready to go!

As we pulled up the the center, it was packed with cars and our intial reaction was "Wow, I hope there is room for us!", we soon found out that all the cars belonged to the million proud parents who had enrolled their preschool aged child in swim lessons.  After the short wave of guilt (maybe we should be doing the swim lesson thing instead...) we tried to remember that we were on a date and it was important to do things together and for our health.  As we walked in to the excercise room we saw a small group of young ladies gathered and talking... hummmm, where were all the guys?!  We walked to the back corner and took our jackets off... Low and behold, we were wearing the exact same workout shirt!  I am sure we looked like the most adorable matching couple... LOL!  The teacher (also a young lady) walked in and began the aerobic dance warm-up "grape vine to the left and then back to right"... I was standing in front of Mike and could tell he was fuming about what I had gotten him into!  Luckly the warm up only lasted for a few minutes and the real workout began.

After the thousanth walking lunge and hundreth push up our first boot camp class was over!  We were sore for several days, and the good thing is that Mike actually commited to go for at least a whole month!  So if you are looking for us on Monday nights, you will find us at bootcamp on our date :)!

What a fun date! I'm laughing out loud - at the matching shirts, and picturing your husband (or any husband, for that matter) doing the grapevine!
