Top of the mountain

This is the view of the Sandia mountains that we have two houses down from our street as we leave our subdivision:

Josh frequently asks if we can climb to the top of the mountain (he is asking in a literal sense), so in the spirit of spending family time together in the great outdoors on Labor Day we drove to the top and explored the mountain a bit.  It is hard to believe it is only about an hour drive to around to the back of the mountain and up to the top.

The fresh mountain air did us all some good and the views were breathtaking!

Here is the view from the top looking down at the city, what a different perspective!
The boys and I from one of the lookouts
Josh led the way most of our hike...
Except for when I made him hold my hand :), here I am holding all 4 of my babies!
They all decided to wear their hats backwards like dad because the breeze was quite strong at times.
Little J was stuck with me the whole time... I have a baby on my back and in my belly, he helped level me out!
After our walk along the ridge, we ventured into the woods... Josh asked a million questions about bears and their whereabouts!
Best attempt at getting a picture of the boys playing in forest, K just does not like to look at the camera...

Great times and so close to home, we need to make this trip more often!
