The heat is on around here so do you want to know our cool down solution?... Ice Pops! It takes the kids awhile to eat them, so I just send them outside and serve them up while I am doing my chores or cooking dinner. You can add what ever you want to them (fruits, yogurt, juices, veggies, ground up flax seed...). A very fun and healthy way to cool down.
You start by lining up your little paper cups and cutting banana pieces to fit nicely into them
My little helper puts pop sticks into the bananas to make them them stay put... It turned out to be a great way for him to work on fine motor skills.
Put the other ingredients in the blender or just pour juice directly on top of bananas... This time we blended up blueberries, plain yogurt, OJ & ground flax seed, but you can do anything you like.
Pour the mixture into the cups and they are ready for the freezer.
A few hours later they are ready to eat and bring smiles (shhhhh, they don't know how healthy they are!).
Beware, these particular ones are quite messy :)!
